About Ben Gordon Center Discovery House
Ben Gordon Center Discovery House is a women’s recovery residence in DeKalb, Illinois operating as part of Northwestern Medicine Ben Gordon Center’s Addictions Treatment Services.
The home supports women age 18 and older in recovery from substance use disorders including those with co-occurring mental health concerns and may accommodate residents’ dependent children.

Women’s Recovery Housing
Discovery House provides residential recovery support tailored specifically to women, paired with access to Ben Gordon Center’s full continuum of addiction treatment.
Residents benefit from a safe, home like setting with structured daily routines and on site support services.
Through the connected outpatient program, women can access Level 1.0 outpatient and Level 2.1 intensive outpatient care with treatment planning guided by ASAM criteria.
Services may include evaluation and individualized treatment plans, case management and individual therapy, group counseling and family education to address both addiction and underlying concerns.
Dual Diagnosis Care
Ben Gordon Center describes its addiction services as dually integrated, meaning women with co-occurring mental health conditions receive coordinated support for both substance use and psychiatric needs.
Residents also have access to alcohol and drug education, peer led meetings and referrals to additional providers within the Northwestern Medicine system.
