About Abraxas WorkBridge

Abraxas WorkBridge is a Pittsburgh community based program serving justice-involved male and female youth ages 11 to 21 throughout Allegheny County.

Part of nonprofit Abraxas Youth & Family Services, WorkBridge supports youth involved with the Allegheny County Juvenile Court through paid employment opportunities, court-ordered community service, restitution activities and competency development.

Grounded in Balanced and Restorative Justice principles, the program helps young people build accountability, skills and a path forward through meaningful work.

Restorative Justice and Employment Readiness for Court Involved Youth

WorkBridge centers its mission on helping court-involved youth make things right through work, restitution and community repair.

The program offers Community Service, an Employment Initiative, a Community Repair Crew, Stipend Programs and Victim/Community Awareness Groups, with each client assessed to determine the most appropriate services.

Youth gain real employment-readiness experience, including OSHA, ServSafe and Flagger certification opportunities, alongside assistance obtaining state IDs and work permits.

A Holistic, Trauma Informed Approach

As part of the broader Abraxas continuum, WorkBridge reflects a holistic, trauma informed philosophy across its youth and behavioral health services. That can include connecting youth with addiction treatment.

The program is also affiliated with PACTT, reinforcing its work related, career and technical orientation within Pennsylvania’s youth services framework.

For those too young to work legally, a stipend model allows them to perform community service toward restitution, turning accountability into practical skills and lasting growth.
