They offer three programs for men and women and a less intensive program for men. One of the specialty tracks is for pregnant women. Their residential program can take in 46 residential clients and 60 clients with a dual diagnosis. Most people stay between 21 and 28 days.
You’ll get at least one private counseling session a week or more as needed. Your typical day includes process groups in the morning and different educational groups over the rest of the day with breaks for meals and recreational activities. Groups focus on topics like making amends, anger, guilt traps, stress and relapse prevention.
Dual-diagnosis clients will have a weekly meeting with a psychiatrist to manage their medication. Doctors and nurse practitioners are also available to help monitor these clients.
People who need to detox before beginning residential treatment can get medical withdrawal services at Bowling Green. The length of stay varies for each patient. During your stay, you’ll attend groups led by detox counselors and other addiction staff and get medication management. When you complete this process you can step down into the residential or dual diagnosis residential program.
The partial hospitalization program (PHP) is for men who have finished residential treatment. This program is usually 10 days but can vary. During this time you’ll live in off-campus housing and get transportation to the center each day. You’ll spend six hours in therapeutic treatment on campus before heading home.
