FAQs

What levels of care does Allentown Outpatient offer?

Outpatient levels are offered, and there’s telehealth under some circumstances. Intensive outpatient (a high level of therapeutic support) is for people in the community who are establishing recovery efforts. Standard outpatient offers a moderate level of that support, meant to sustain lifestyle changes. The intensive outpatient program is the higher track.

How does payment work if you don't use insurance?

Medicaid is accepted, along with county funding and some commercial insurances. Lehigh or Northampton County Magellan Healthcare is another funding path. Designated county funding sets a person’s share by income, and that’s based on a client liability determination table. Self-pay rates are $150 for an assessment, $96 for a 45 to 60 minute individual session and $90 for a 180 minute group.

Who can come for assessment and treatment?

Men, women and adolescents. The program assesses and treats substance use problems and the issues that come with them. Adolescents are included alongside adults, so the program is not limited by gender. The teen rehab page covers the adolescent side more broadly, while this program also takes men and women.

Which roles make up the care team?

Therapists work with case managers and with Certified Recovery Specialists. Together they handle each person’s treatment and recovery needs. The point of that mix is shared work across those roles, clinical and recovery support together.
