About Greenwood Residences Community Residence
Greenwood Residences Community is a state supported residence program for those experiencing substance abuse challenges. The residential setting provides a suburban environment conducive to maintaining sobriety. There are 13 bedrooms and four bathrooms. It’s conveniently located on Main Street in Buffalo, New York, near the University at Buffalo South Campus.
Therapy Approaches
The counseling and therapies offer support to men and women in a residence community setting. The center is near public transportation to make it easier for residents to connect to local organizations and amenities.
Depending on your personal needs, the facility offers different types of therapy and treatments. This includes the option of a less restrictive inpatient care and while staying focused on the goal of independent living while making healthy life choices. The program also has individualized relapse prevention options.
A Serene Community Residence
I think it’s important that this is a community focused philosophy, with residents offering each other peer support to keep a healthy and sober lifestyle. Life skills are part of your recovery journey, and participants take part together in cleaning, housework and shared activities.
The center’s location in Buffalo offers patients to different parks and local attractions. Delaware Park is a large greenspace in the area. This may offer residents an opportunity for recreational outdoor activities and quiet reflection with walking trails and meditation spaces ideal for outdoor recovery activities.
Two nearby attractions include the Buffalo Zoo and the Albright Knox Art Gallery, which offer residents a sense of connection to local community events and gatherings.
