New Directions Cherokee Road is a nonprofit drug and alcohol rehab in Stockton, California, providing residential and outpatient substance use disorder treatment for adult men and women in San Joaquin County.

Set on a three-acre campus in East Stockton, the program offers withdrawal management, residential care and outpatient services, with MAT available through community partners.

Operating since 1992, New Directions blends 12-Step principles with evidence-based care to help adults rebuild healthy, stable lives.

Gender Specific, Flexible Withdrawal Management Facilities

Treatment may begin with withdrawal management (ASAM Level 3.2) and transition into residential care at Levels 3.1 and 3.5, with separate facilities for men and women on the same campus. Outpatient services are also available for those needing flexible, lower-intensity support.

Each participant is paired with a certified Substance Use Disorder counselor and engages in individual counseling, groups and lectures covering relapse prevention, mental health, family reunification, parenting, nutrition, domestic violence and employment readiness.

Co-occurring disorders are addressed alongside addiction within a recovery community shaped by alumni staff.
