About Six Step House

Six Step House is a longstanding nonprofit recovery fellowship located in the Leucadia neighborhood of Encinitas, California serving people in recovery throughout North San Diego County. Its mission centers on offering a safe family like environment where fellowship, service, and connection drive lasting sobriety.

The house hosts a wide range of 12 step mutual aid meetings and sober activities for alcoholics, addicts, and their loved ones.

12-Step Fellowship and Miscellaneous Support Groups

Six Step House is built around peer led 12 step recovery providing a welcoming home base for newly sober and long time members alike. Operating since May 1979 the organization has become a recognizable recovery landmark along North Coast Highway 101.

The weekly schedule features Alcoholics Anonymous discussion meetings, book studies, and speaker meetings along with Narcotics Anonymous, Heroin Anonymous, Eating Disorders Anonymous, and Chronic Pain Anonymous. Members also participate in sober events and service work with volunteer opportunities that reinforce recovery through community.

Inclusive Meetings and Specialty Groups

Beyond standard open and closed meetings Six Step House hosts focused gatherings including men’s and women’s discussions, young people’s AA, and the LGBTQ affirming “Here and Queer” meeting. This variety helps members find peers who share their experiences and build a supportive home group within a homelike coffee friendly setting.
