Youth Mental Health Crisis Stabilization and Residential Care

Belmont Pines offers a full continuum of care for youth in crisis, from short term acute inpatient stabilization typically 4 to 10 days to longer term residential treatment ranging from a few months up to 1 year. The acute inpatient program features intensive psychiatric evaluation and treatment by a multidisciplinary team, with separate tracks for children ages 5 years to 11 years and adolescents ages 12 years to 18 years and includes play therapy techniques for younger patients.

Residential treatment includes at least weekly evaluation by a board certified child and adolescent psychiatrist, weekly individual therapy with a master’s level licensed therapist or social worker and daily group therapies covering trauma focused care, anger management, coping skills, chemical dependency education and independent living skills. Families are actively involved in both acute and residential programming, with family therapy integrated into care and aftercare planning tailored to each youth’s transition home or to lower levels of support.
