About NECCO

NECCO is a multi-state behavioral health and child welfare organization offering outpatient counseling, foster care, adoption and independent living services from its Florence, Kentucky office.

The team works with children as young as age 3, teens, transitional-age young adults, parents and community members, supporting needs that include substance use, co-occurring mental health concerns, and trauma.

NECCO’s approach centers on meeting clients where they live, learn and grow, with care that blends clinical counseling and family-focused support.

Counseling for Youth, Families, and Young Adults

NECCO’s Florence office provides outpatient counseling for children, adolescents and young adults navigating behavioral health and substance use challenges.

Services include family therapy, case management, school-based therapy and day treatment for children, with youth age 14 and above able to seek substance use support independently.

Sessions may include trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy, play therapy, expressive arts therapy, motivational interviewing and brief intervention.

Clinicians work in a private welcoming environment to help clients address underlying trauma, build coping skills and strengthen family connections.

Trauma-Informed and Co-Occurring Care

NECCO offers specialized programming for clients who have experienced trauma or sexual abuse, as well as those managing co-occurring mental health and substance use conditions.

Suicide prevention, social skills development and substance use education round out a continuum that supports both clinical and everyday-life needs.

    Outpatient Rehab

If you want to attend school or work during rehab, consider outpatient treatment in Ohio. You’ll live independently except when you’re attending rehab. Aftercare Support

Aftercare in Ohio is focused on helping you access the resources and ongoing support you need to stay sober long-term. Aftercare services help provide stability as you establish your new life and may include help with employment, housing, sober activities, making friends, and finding long-term support.

Therapies

  • Cognitive Behavior Therapy

Cognitive behavioral therapy in Ohio gives you tools to challenge your thinking patterns. Your underlying core beliefs can cause you to automatically react in certain ways. CBT helps you identify these immediate responses, challenge them, and choose a healthier response.

  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy

Dialectical behavioral therapy in Ohio gives you tools to learn new behaviors to improve and change your life. You probably have unhelpful thoughts and behaviors that you have inadvertently practiced for years. DBT helps you identify these behaviors and choose a healthier response.

  • Trauma Therapy

Many people with addiction issues in Ohio use substances to decrease difficult feelings such as guilt, shame, fear, and more. Trauma-informed therapy can help you understand where these feelings come from and how to deal with them in a better way. Trauma-informed therapy is one element of rehab treatment, which also includes activities, peer support, individual and group counseling, relapse prevention, and more. Together, all these methods support you in establishing long-term recovery.
