About Comprehensive Alcoholism Rehabilitation Programs CARP

The Comprehensive Alcoholism Rehabilitation Program (or CARP) of West Palm Beach, Florida, is a residential treatment program for adults living with addiction or experiencing homelessness. This 12 Step program has two gender specific houses for serving men and women. The length of the program is 90 days.

The program follows a tight structure that shows you how to maintain a sober lifestyle through accountability and discipline. It focuses on the physical and behavioral skills used in recovery as much as the spiritual, establishing a positive and empowering mindset. The program is offered entirely free for those who qualify.

The Power of Routine

Residential programs like these typically utilize a structured daily routine to assist in the substance use disorder recovery process. This may include things like household chores, attending meetings, or holding a job offsite.

They’re designed to get you active and cultivate a sense of responsibility, a powerful motivator in sobriety maintenance. Staff will also connect you with aftercare services when you exit, allowing a smooth continuation of your recovery experience and routine.

A Bridge to the 12 Steps

I like that this location and others like it connect clients with 12 Step groups. Support groups, even those outside of this model, provide a support network and social connections for anyone in recovery. Going it alone isn’t easy—that’s why treatment programs exist in the first place.

The sooner you’re connected with one of these groups, the sooner you can benefit from that encouragement. The 12 Step model is itself highly structured, so it builds upon and reinforces the concepts you’ll be learning throughout your stay.

If you’re in the area for treatment, be sure to take advantage of West Palm Beach’s outdoor fun spots when you want to relax. Places like Jupiter Beach and Ocean Reef Park are popular places for recreation and enjoying the outdoors.
