About Palmer Drug Abuse Program Mckinney

Based in McAllen, Texas, Palmer Drug Abuse Program (PDAP) is a free 12-step addiction treatment program available to young people, adults and their families in Hidalgo County.

Decades of Experience

Since 1988, this program has reliably been around to provide free and accessible care to residents of Hidalgo County.

PDAP has long reached out to potential drug users and their families within the community, and offered a safe, positive space where young people can feel they belong. Here, individuals can share their struggles among peers, tap into 12-step recovery methods, and access support from licensed substance abuse counselors.

It’s open to teens and young adults outside of work or school hours, designed as a relaxed, sober environment where they can hang out, play video games, basketball, shoot pool, play cards and socialize.

Holistic Support

Having started in Houston, PDAP has since spread to several other Texas cities, as well as other states like Oklahoma, New Mexico, and California.

Treatment options here include individual, group, and family counseling, as well as support group meetings. Organized activities are also provided year-round, with summertime bringing softball, volleyball, cookouts and many a trip to the beach.
