About Saint Vincent Hospital

Saint Vincent Hospital is an acute care facility in Worcester, Massachusetts that provides hospital-based behavioral health and substance abuse services alongside comprehensive medical care.

The center supports adults and adolescents with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders through 24-hour psychiatric evaluation, inpatient care and step-down outpatient programming.

With a full continuum of care under one roof Saint Vincent meets patients wherever they are in their recovery journey.

Dual Diagnosis Treatment

Saint Vincent Hospital’s dual diagnosis program provides short-term, intensive care for patients ages 16 and older living with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders.

Each patient receives an individualized treatment plan supported by medical evaluation, aftercare planning and a multidisciplinary team.

Treatment blends crisis intervention, group work, one-on-one sessions, family therapy and occupational therapy to address both addiction and underlying mental health needs.

This integrated, hospital-based approach means patients also have access to broader medical services throughout care.

Structured Outpatient Programs

For adults 18 and older the Partial Hospital and Intensive Outpatient Programs offer structured daytime treatment for those who do not require full inpatient hospitalization.

Patients attend four therapeutic and supportive groups daily with psychiatry or nurse practitioner visits, medication management, individual psychotherapy and case management.

Care includes proven approaches including CBT, ACT, DBT and mindfulness.
