About The Ridge Behavioral Health System Lexington

Located in the heart of Lexington, Kentucky is The Ridge Behavioral Health System in Lexington. This is a comprehensive recovery facility that serves children, adolescents, and adults who are struggling with their mental health. There are also dedicated services for adults struggling with substance use.

They provide care at a large scale because they’re a licensed hospital with 110 beds. You’ll also find robust support through their partial hospitalization program. Both programs offer evidence based approaches to care for your mental health or co-occurring substance use struggles.

When you first arrive at the facility, you’ll be met with a warm and inviting atmosphere. Although this is a licensed hospital facility, you won’t get a clinical feel when you begin your care. The waiting rooms have somewhat of a clinical feel to them, but once you begin care or get settled in one of their inpatient beds, you’ll find spacious rooms with warm tones. Rooms are fully furnished in ways that mimic a home like setting.

Communal rooms where group meetings happen have a somewhat clinical feel to them, but not in a way that feels sanitized or intimidating. You’ll still get a sense of comfort and warmth here which will impact how you interact with your care team and other peers as you move through your program.

Helping to take that “clinical” feel out of your recovery are the various recreational activities you’ll find here. Among these activities are a full playground for child and adolescent patients. There’s also a full size outdoor pool here for aqua therapy and just to unwind.

Located just outside the heart of Lexington, you’ll be conveniently located in one of the most culturally rich towns for outdoor enthusiasts, equestrian lovers, and people who appreciate classic southern slow cooked meats. Known as the horse capital of the world, you can visit a variety of horse farms, meet horse racing legends, and soak in the cowboy lifestyle here. There’s also a rich historical presence here, and you can dive into that history by visiting establishments like the Mary Todd Lincoln House, the family home of President Lincoln’s wife.
