About South Arkansas Youth Services SAYS Columbia Road (Closed)
South Arkansas Youth Services (SAYS) in Magnolia, Arkansas was a residential and outpatient treatment facility for adolescents with substance use disorders and behavioral problems. The center offered families different choices according to the needs of their child, ranging from residential treatment to outpatient programs. Every program delivered evidence based treatments including counseling, group therapy and family therapy to assist the teens in developing a stable platform for their recovery.
Affordability and Family Involvement
SAYS understood that parents are an important part of the healing process. Family therapy helped improve communication between the family and helped in the healing process of trust.
During education sessions, parents were provided with information about addiction, ways of intervening and the consequences of enabling. To ease the financial pressure, the center provided information on insurance and the costs breakdown of treatment.
<Exclusive Treatment For Adolescents
SAYS was different from most treatment centers in that it was exclusively for adolescents. The programs understood the issues of teenage addiction and provided the necessary age appropriate care that included psychiatric care, anger management, and prevention of relapse.
SAYS is able to do this because it includes the family in the process and deals with the emotional and behavioral issues that the teen may have, so that the teen can gain a fresh start in life and the parents can help him or her succeed.
