ARJ’s Jasper’s House is designed for kids and adolescents whose substance use or mental health prevents them from functioning in school or similar settings. It’s a day treatment program that’s developmentally and culturally sensitive with a family focus. The program is based in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Evolving Treatment

One thing I think any parent will find comforting about this SUD program is that it has no set length of time. Recovery happens at different paces for different people, and programs that have fixed lengths unfortunately don’t address this. In this program, your child’s progress is evaluated every 30 days to determine how to move forward or if they’re ready to exit treatment.

I also appreciate their summertime options for treatment. Even though school itself isn’t in session, they maintain school hours for the program for anyone interested. It’s a bonus for anyone cautious about taking their child out of school.

Work and Therapy

Each client’s day is divided between continuing their education following local standards and therapeutic activities targeting their specific needs. A mixture like this can break up the monotony a young child might experience without overwhelming them. It also keeps them on track with their educational needs, so they don’t fall behind in their education because they underwent treatment.

Easily Accessed

Jasper’s House already has an easy to reach location near Northlake Mall. However, if you’re unable to make it to and from the center, don’t worry; they’ll provide transportation for clients. It’s one of the ways they’ve eliminated hurdles to recovery and made their center more welcoming to everyone.
