About Legacy Behavioral Health Services
Legacy Behavioral Health Services is a behavioral health provider serving adults, adolescents and children across a 10-county region of south Georgia.
The organization treats mental illness, substance use disorders and co-occurring conditions using proven approaches like cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing and relapse prevention.
As a public safety-net provider, Legacy is committed to serving individuals regardless of their ability to pay, ensuring quality care reaches those who need it most.
Outpatient Addiction Treatment
Legacy’s North Oak campus offers outpatient substance use treatment alongside a dedicated medication-assisted treatment program for opioid use disorder.
The program is a non-intensive outpatient option that supports clients with co-occurring mental health needs using clinically validated tools like COWS for opioid withdrawal assessment.
New patients may walk in during intake hours for an initial assessment with a therapist and nurse.
Sessions incorporate CBT, motivational interviewing, trauma-informed counseling and relapse prevention strategies to address both the behavioral and underlying drivers of substance use.
Crisis and Wraparound Behavioral Health Support
Beyond outpatient services, Legacy operates a 24/7 Behavioral Health Crisis Center on North Oak Street Extension and provides residential and housing supports for adults with severe mental illness or addictive disease.
This integrated network helps clients move smoothly between levels of care as their needs change.
