About Potentials LLC

Potentials is owned and operated by Dana Dedolph and is based in Astoria, Oregon. This counselor offers intensive outpatient addiction treatment via specialized care without the need for residential living. Its flagship intensive outpatient program (IOP) serves as the core component of their continuum, supplemented by regular outpatient therapy and DUI/DWI mandated treatment.

This model reflects Potentials’ mission to help adults and young adults achieve recovery while maintaining daily responsibilities, building a sustainable foundation for long-term wellness.

IOP at Potentials

Ms. Dedolph designed her program for adults and young adults who live locally or remotely and need intensive support for substance use and co-occurring mental health issues. There’s no residential detox or inpatient stay; clients attend scheduled sessions multiple times per week in group, individual or couple’s formats under the care of licensed clinicians.

Dual diagnosis care—including clients already on medication-assisted treatment (MAT)  elsewhere—is a central feature, and the program is gender-inclusive with specialty groups for men and those affected by trauma.

Clients engage in evidence-based modalities like behavioral therapy and motivational interviewing. A typical week includes multiple group therapy sessions, individual counseling, couples or marital therapy, and specialized trauma work. Evening sessions are available.

Participants also benefit from family involvement and relapse prevention planning, with many citing the compassionate and highly qualified staff and the ability to balance recovery with work, family, or legal obligations.

What Happens During Your Intensive Outpatient Journey

Here is what clients can expect when navigating Potentials:

  1. Assessment & Treatment Planning: An initial evaluation covers substance use, mental health, trauma, legal status, and goals to personalize your plan.
  2. Stabilization & Referral: If detox or medication adjustments are needed, referrals are made, but Potentials doesn’t offer inpatient detox on-site.
  3. Active Intensive Outpatient Participation: Weekly therapy groups, individual sessions, couples or family counseling and trauma-focused work form the core of regular attendance.
  4. Relapse Prevention & Life Skills Building: Skills to manage triggers, cope with stress, maintain recovery routines and address co-occurring mental health are integrated.
  5. Aftercare & Legal/Community Reintegration: Planning for ongoing support, legal compliance (for DUI/DWI or mandated clients) and maintaining connection to community resources marks the final phase.

Supportive Services & Payment Choices

Apart from IOP, Potentials provides regular outpatient treatment, group and individual counseling, couples/marital therapy, trauma recovery and specialized services for DUI/DWI clients. Telehealth is available for certain services allowing flexibility for clients outside the area or with scheduling constraints.

Payment options are broad: private insurance, Medicaid, military insurance such as TRICARE and cash are all accepted. For those who qualify, a sliding fee scale based on income helps make treatment more accessible.
