Council on Alcoholism and Drug Abuse of Northwest Louisiana (CADA) is a nonprofit, CARF-accredited substance use disorder treatment organization serving Shreveport, Bossier City, and surrounding parishes since 1958. The organization offers a full continuum of care, including residential and outpatient programming, with specialized support for co-occurring mental health and addiction needs. CADA’s mission to educate, counsel and treat individuals affected by alcoholism and other addictive diseases is grounded in evidence based care and community rooted service.

Comprehensive Substance Use Disorder Treatment in Northwest Louisiana

CADA provides residential and outpatient programming for adults struggling with alcoholism, opioid addiction and other substance use disorders. Treatment integrates individual therapy, group therapy and family therapy, with an emphasis on rational emotive behavioral therapy (REBT) to address both behavior patterns and underlying emotional triggers.

The organization’s continuum of care model ensures clients can step up or step down levels of support as needed, with confidential screening available seven days a week and a 24/7 admissions phone line. CADA serves men, women and young adults, with specialized programming for co-occurring disorders to treat addiction and mental health conditions together.

Mobile Crisis Response and Peer Support

CADA operates a Mobile Crisis Response Team serving nine parishes across Northwest Louisiana, available 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. daily. The team meets individuals experiencing a mental health or substance use crisis where they are, utilizing peer support specialists and licensed mental health professionals for assessment and stabilization.

Getting Started with CADA

CADA provides in person treatment at its centers in Shreveport and Bossier City, with mobile crisis services covering Caddo, Bossier, Webster, Claiborne, De Soto, Red River, Bienville, Sabine and Natchitoches parishes.

The organization accepts Medicaid, private insurance, self-pay and state funding for eligible services.
