Located in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, is the Salvation Army of Greater Baton Rouge Corps Recovery Center. This center serves as a transitional living facility for men who need a safe place to call home as they start recovery from a drug or alcohol use disorder.

The Salvation Army is a nationally recognized faith based organization that helps individuals and families be the best version of themselves. Their efforts to transform communities are at the heart of the addiction recovery centers they provide to the recovering men and women they work with.

Taking part in this recovery program is generally offered free of charge; however, if you have a consistent income, you might be asked to pay a very small fee. When you’re in this program, you’ll also receive basic services like food, clothing, and counseling support.

The Corps Recovery Center is just five miles away from downtown Baton Rouge. You’re located just outside of a residential community and will have easy access to different shops, grocery stores, and other community facilities that are within walking distance. Not to mention, you’re close to notable museums, venues, and landmarks that the history rich city of Baton Rouge is known for.

While living in this transitional housing facility, you’ll also take part in their nationally recognized Work Therapy Program. Through this program, you’ll work in one of their affiliated Salvation Army Thrift Stores. You’ll get hands-on experience as you build healthy habits like communication, responsibility, and other essential life skills. By working, you’ll gain a sense of accomplishment and build up your work experience so that you can transition back into society.

While at the Corp Recovery Center, you’ll also take part in group counseling sessions and fellowship that’s rooted in the Christian faith. This will encourage you to connect with a higher power that you can lean on during the difficult parts of your recovery.
