About LA Health and Rehab Center Reality House

Located in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Louisiana, LA Health and Rehab Center Reality House is a CARF accredited residential treatment program for pregnant women and women with their dependent children from birth through age 12. Gender specific issues are addressed, and women are supported in becoming nurturing mothers while helping their children heal from the scars left by their illness.

Long Term Residential Program for Women

They offer stays up to six months, while focusing on helping you build a healthy life free from drugs and alcohol. With just 30 beds, the care they offer is personalized for mother and child. Childcare services are offered, as well as transportation assistance when needed.

Programs for Children

They offer children’s prevention and Children of Alcoholics (COA) programs designed to promote physical and emotional changes that encourage a drug and alcohol free life. Kids get special tutoring and nutrition education as well as counseling outside of the mother/child relationship.

Outpatient Care Options

They follow the 12 Step recovery program, and when a residential stay is not possible, they offer outpatient services for adults and children. They help with life skills like money management and job preparedness, and they’ll also help with parenting training and support. Housing assistance is offered through an ESG emergency solution grant.

Trauma and Justice Involvement Support

They support women who’ve experienced trauma and domestic or sexual abuse, and they provide care that is inclusive of LGBTQ individuals, veterans and people involved in the justice system. Note that they don’t assist with DUI or DWI cases.

A sliding fee scale is available since they receive funding from SAMHSA, block grants, TANF and other federal funding. They also accept Medicaid, private pay and private insurance.
