About In Balance Continuum of Care

In Balance Continuum of Care is a family owned addiction treatment provider in Tucson offering intensive outpatient, outpatient, transitional living and alumni services for adults and young men. Founded in 1996 by Patrick and Betsy Barrasso, the continuum specializes in co-occurring disorders.

They integrate psychiatric support, group therapy, relapse prevention education and accountability measures. In Balance delivers Joint Commission accredited care that bridges structured treatment and long term recovery community support.

Intensive Outpatient Treatment for Co-Occurring Disorders

In Balance’s core offering is its adult IOP, designed for men and women navigating substance use alongside mental health conditions. The program meets multiple days per week and includes group therapy, individual counseling, psychiatric evaluation and medication management, random drug testing and relapse prevention planning.

Sessions blend evidence based modalities like CBT and EMDR with experiential approaches including equine therapy and yoga, targeting both the root causes of addiction and co occurring symptoms. The IOP package includes a comprehensive assessment, 30 group sessions, lab testing, recreational activities and 9 months of aftercare to support sustainable progress.

A Full Continuum from Treatment to Alumni Community

Beyond IOP, In Balance offers step down outpatient services, structured transitional living for young men and an alumni continuing care model centered on a large sober living property known as “Sober Park.” This community hub features multiple houses, a pool, sports courts and skate ramps, alongside optional housing, therapy supports and community meetings to reinforce long term sobriety.
