Located in the historic Third Ward in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, is The Salvation Army’s Adult Rehabilitation Center Milwaukee. This is a nationally recognized community focused recovery facility that serves men and women who are struggling with drug and alcohol use. They have a residential treatment program in the midst of this urban city center that’s centered around their work therapy program.

This program is free. However, there may be a small fee if you have a steady stream of income.

The ARC center is conveniently located, and you’ll have access to public transportation services that will allow you to get around town. There are also various shopping establishments nearby, providing you access to services you might need.

Through their work therapy program, you’ll be set up to work in their affiliated thrift store following a regular and structured work schedule. This will help you gain a sense of accomplishment as you give back to your community. This structure will provide you with healthy habits that can replace destructive ones that have contributed to your substance use challenges. You’ll also work on goal setting and will practice in real time the skills you need to reach your goals.

When you are not working, you’ll be engaging in counseling sessions and 12 Step programs.
