About Serenity Mesa Youth Recovery Center (Healing Addiction in Our Community)

Serenity Mesa Youth Recovery Center, part of Healing Addiction in Our Community, is a substance use treatment program in Albuquerque, New Mexico for young people ages 14 to 21 who are struggling with drugs and alcohol. The center offers rigorous treatment along with transitional living and housing support tailored to adolescents and young adults. The program serves clients with co-occurring mental health disorders, using a comprehensive approach that integrates therapy, education, life skills, and community reintegration.

Medically Monitored Detox

Treatment begins in the Crisis Triage Center, where clients receive 3 to 14 days of medically monitored detox in a safe, supervised environment. From there, young people transition into a 90-day inpatient program that includes individual and group therapy, case management, medication management and experiential learning.

Case managers can help guide clients and connect them to outside agencies or resources throughout care.

Additional Assistance

The continuum extends to transitional living services and both shared-site and scattered-site housing. The focus is on giving clients increasing independence while maintaining support.

Programs emphasize life skills development, high school or GED preparation, job readiness, health and wellness and community engagement to prepare youth for long-term recovery and successful reintegration. The center also includes gender-specific programs and specialized tracks for pregnant or parenting young women.
