About Renew Your Mind

Renew Your Mind is a private, nonprofit outpatient addiction and mental health treatment center located in Anchorage, Alaska. The substance use disorder (SUD) treatment services accept clients on medication assisted treatment (MAT) for outpatient detoxification, as long as the medication is prescribed elsewhere.

The organization accepts Access to Recovery Vouchers. They also offer an income based sliding fee scale and payment assistance for eligible clients. Renew Your Mind is CARF accredited and licensed by the State Substance Abuse Agency.

Addiction Treatment in Downtown Anchorage, Alaska

The treatment facility is one mile from Delaney Park downtown. The park is only one block wide, but runs for 13 blocks and features a giant steam locomotive, an ice rink and a gym. The park was the city’s first airfield, but now it offers a place to walk, run, relax and take in the natural beauty of Anchorage.

The facility welcomes all clients. They have experience treating veterans, active duty military personnel and members of military families.

Evidence Based Therapies

The center accepts court referred/mandated clients, including DUI/DWI clients. All individuals who attend the outpatient programs receive substance use counseling and education. This includes group and individual counseling.

The program includes evidence based treatment therapies, such as cognitive behavior therapy (CBT). The staff uses rational emotive behavioral therapy (REBT), which helps clients change negative thought patterns and irrational beliefs that can lead to problematic behaviors. Clients learn anger management techniques and work on strategies to prevent relapse.
