About The Manna House

The Manna House is a recovery focused supportive housing program in Johnson City, Tennessee, offering safe, affordable transitional housing for men working toward sobriety and stability.

A program of nonprofit Fairview Housing since 1998, it combines recovery accountability, peer community, employment connection and linkage to physical and behavioral health providers.

Many residents appreciate the structured, community centered environment built around mutual support and long-term recovery.

Recovery Support and Transitional House for Men

The Manna House offers supportive and transitional recovery housing for men, with sobriety maintenance built around accountability, house meetings and peer community.

Residents attend twelve-step meetings and build recovery networks, while connecting to more than 40 community partners for healthcare, legal and behavioral health needs.

The program serves men only, including those facing homelessness, substance use disorder and unstable living conditions.

It also supports chronically homeless men and veterans, with partnerships tied to nearby veteran advocacy organizations and the James H. Quillen VA Medical Center.

The Manna House sits in downtown Johnson City, within walking distance of East Tennessee State University and just minutes from the VA Medical Center and Ballad Health’s Johnson City Medical Center.

The campus includes the main house plus annex properties, with nearby shopping, restaurants and access via the Johnson City Transit bus line.

Through the Manna House Thrift Store microenterprise, residents can access employment and job training opportunities that support both recovery and long-term independence.
