About Frontier Health

Frontier Health serves clients in Northeast Tennessee and Southwest Virginia. They used to be called Magnolia Ridge Alcohol & Drug Treatment Center. They provide a range of services including drug and alcohol addiction services, mental illness and crisis response and intellectual and developmental disabilities support. Their Willow Ridge location in metropolitan Johnson City, Tennessee, provides Washington County with a female-only residential treatment center for adults.

This facility has 19 beds for women grappling with addiction or co-occurring mental health conditions. Most of the residents are stepping down from detox at Turning Point detox unit, yet referrals are accepted from all sources. Residents get access to a gender specific approach to addiction recovery that relies on proven practices and therapies that will serve the women in care for their whole lives.

Residential treatment allows residents to step away from their usual environment and focus on healing and recovery in a safe and supportive environment. Having a women-only facility can be important for clients who are also dealign with trauma, domestic or sexual abuse or who want a gender-specific mode of treatment.

Studies show that more than half of adults diagnosed with drug or alcohol addiction have or are also experiencing a mental disorder. Untreated, these mental illnesses can lead to increased chemical dependency as a way to deal with mental health symptoms like depression and anxiety. Willow Ridge treats both disorders at the same time in order to help clients build a true foundation for lasting recovery.

Your daily schedule can vary depending on your specific treatment plan but generally involves individual and group counseling, support or process groups and family education. It’s important to involve your family members so that as a unit you can learn to avoid codependency, enabling behaviors and unhealthy communication patterns.

Willow Ridge gives patients access to physicians and daily nursing. They also provide case management and aftercare planning to make sure that your transition back to the community is as seamless as possible.
