About Moraine House Vision

Moraine House Vision is a nonprofit men’s recovery residence in downtown Valparaiso, Indiana providing structured sober living for adults age 18 and older recovering from alcohol and drug addiction.

The program follows a 180 day model rooted in 12 step philosophy, individualized planning and peer accountability for men transitioning out of primary treatment.

With a family style atmosphere rather than an institutional setting, Moraine House offers a supportive home base where men can rebuild stability, sobriety and self sufficiency.

Structured Men’s Sober Living

Moraine House specializes in post treatment recovery housing for men working through alcohol addiction and chemical dependency.

Operating since the mid 1970s, the home has long served residents coming from treatment centers across Lake and Porter, LaPorte and Cook counties.

Each resident completes a screening and assessment process that informs an individualized plan tied to their drug of choice and recovery goals.

Daily life includes curfews and random drug screening, employment or volunteer expectations and biweekly case review with staff to keep progress on track.

12 Step Recovery and Peer Support

The program is grounded in nondenominational 12 step principles, emphasizing spirituality and self examination, making amends and helping others in recovery.

Residents build accountability through shared living, peer mentorship and consistent participation in recovery activities that reinforce long term sobriety.

Getting Connected

Moraine House operates in person at its 353 Lincolnway location in downtown Valparaiso within walking distance of amenities, employment opportunities and public transportation.

The home charges a screening fee and a weekly program fee, and accepts Recovery Works funding for eligible clients to help cover fees, therapy and aftercare.
