About Hope House
Hope House in Richmond, Indiana, is a residential treatment program for adult men 18 and older facing homelessness and working to recover from addiction. Most stay around four to six months depending on their individual needs. The program runs daily classes and encourages residents to take responsibility through shared chores, meetings and community support.
The facility is also a homeless shelter for men who need a safe place to sleep. The shelter offers two meals a day, clean beds and shower facilities.
Care Rooted in the 12 Step Model
Hope House uses a 12 Step model that recognizes the role of a Higher Power but doesn’t push any particular religion. The program relies on a mix of peer support, personal responsibility and community involvement to help men rebuild their lives.
A Step Between Treatment and Independence
After completing the residential program, some men stick around to become mentors. Others stay at Hope House but earn money working in the community. The halfway house gives them a chance to ease back into daily life while holding onto the support and structure that helped them get sober.
Support Doesn’t Stop at the Door
Even after they move out, a lot of guys stay in touch. Hope House continues to offer support and check-in, helping you manage real world stress and apply the skills you learned in treatment. It’s all part of making recovery stick.
No Fees Means No Barriers
There’s no charge to stay at Hope House, so financial concerns don’t get in the way of getting help. Clients from outside Wayne County are encouraged to donate if they’re able, but no one is turned away based on money.
A Quiet Spot Tucked Into Nature
Located on the Richmond State Hospital campus, Hope House sits in a peaceful area surrounded by nature. Places like Hayes Arboretum and Cope Environmental Center offer quiet spaces to think, while the nearby art and history museums or even the Richmond Mall gives guys a chance to rejoin the community on their own terms.
